An Introduction | Emily K

Hey guys! Welcome to my new blog! Whether you’ve been following this blog for a while, or know me in real life, hello! I’m happy that you’re here reading this.

I used to blog anonymously here as LyfWithEm, and in that time I’ve got to know so many of you lovely bunch, and I’m so grateful to those of you who continue to read my posts. Now I’ve decided to change that, so my friends and family can read this. I never wanted to blog without being anonymous before, because I wasn’t confident enough. I was afraid of what people would think. But over the last two years since I’ve been blogging, and with the help of some of you lovelies, I’ve grown in my confidence, and I’m so pleased that my friends will be reading this!

For those of you who don’t know anything about me, let me introduce myself. Not that there’s much to say. My name is Emily, I’m fifteen (sixteen on Monday!), and I live in St Albans, in England. I’m starting sixth form in September, provided exam results go to plan (Aghh – thirteen days!! – I swear my heart beats faster every time I think about it!). I think I want to study English Literature, Psychology and Geography, but honestly I’m wayyy too indecisive and my mind keeps changing.

Okayy, so what else can I tell you? I’m a total bookworm (I know, boringg, I’m sorry!!), and many of my posts will focus on this – I’m planning on doing lots of book reviews and book tags! I just finished reading ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’, by Lionel Shriver, a book recommended by our Psychology department, and I was absolutely blown away by her writing; I’ve never had such conflicting views at the end of a novel before. I’ll be posting a review on it very soon!

I also write a bit…sometimes (I’ve almost finished the first draft of a novel I’ve been working on but it’s utter trash…just looking at it makes me pretty much cry it’s that awful lol, there is no hope for it!)

Ok, what else. Um. I love horses, and I spend each Saturday at my stables. I’m also way too in love with my puppy. He’s a cockapoo (the best breed, in my opinion hehe), called Coco, and while being away in Cornwall, where I am at the moment, we’ve discovered that he LOVES the beach! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happier dog than him racing around on the sand! Here, enjoy this gorgeous photo of him! I do apologise if you don’t find him as lovely as I do.
I’m not really sure what else to tell you, and it’s late, so I’ll finish this post off. Not being anonymous is weird. I keep having to re-read every sentence, debating over whether I really want to do this. I’m not sure I’m prepared to have people at school reading this. Oh well. Let’s do it anyway haha 😀

To those of my blogging friends, how are you all doing? I’m sorry it’s been so long, but I’m very excited to be back again! Please leave a link to one of your fav blog posts that you’ve written recently – I’d love to have a read!

Lots of love, Em x

  3. I know I am quite late to this post (sorry!) but I started my blog just yesterday after having anonymous ones when I was younger and I’m quite scared about being so open so wanted to search for blogs that write similar to what I intend to do. I loved this post and your writing style and can’t wait to read more from you xx

                  1. I’m having the best summer so far. I went on a really relaxing holiday to Greece with my family and I recently got back from a week residential musical theatre intense skills course which was one of the best weeks of my life! You must have a lot of build up in your reader 😂x

  7. Just found your blog but you seem like a nice and cool person; will have to check out your posts! And being a bookworm is not boring. At least, not according to the opinion of someone who co-runs a bookstagram and writes a book blog to go with it. So. Um. Yeah, heh heh. Will read more right now! 😉 –Julia

  9. Lovely post, Emily 💕. 🙂 I totally understand how you feel because I used to be completely anonymous too! Like you said, I felt the need to check over every sentence many times because I didn’t want to accidentally share something I didn’t want to share hehe. It will feel weird at first but I guess if that’s what you want to do then you just have to go for it and become less anonymous! ❤️ I hope your blog will continue to grow! You’re already so amazing!! 😊. Lots of love from Truuty xxxxx
